Your Involvement Weaves the Fabric of Connections!

Think back to some point in your life when someone made a positive difference. Whether you were 5 or 16, someone came along and helped change you for the better, valued you, encouraged you, protected you, respected you. Was it a teacher? A parent? The next-door-neighbor? Your piano teacher? Somewhere along the way, someone believed in you, and that made all the difference.  

Think today about "giving it back," and impact the future of Georgetown.  Would you like to receive a packet with information on some of the different volunteer opportunities in our community?  These are just a few ways that you can help:

• Become a Bridgebuilder in the Bridges To Growth Resource Center. Help parents or childcare providers check materials in or out of the Bridges To Growth resource room! Didn't you always think it would be fun to be a librarian? We'll even give you a pencil to wear behind your ear. Just an hour or two a week would help!
  
• Answer the phone; file; make copies; apply mailing labels; database entry, work on scrapbook, help with crafts, etc., at Kid City or the After School Action Program, help design flyers or even better -- help distribute the flyers! Make phone calls, write PSA's, help recruit volunteers! 
  
• Visit our "Wish List." Next time you're at Wal-Mart, an educational supply or a toy store, pick up an item or two and donate to Bridges To Growth.
  
• Computer Help! Are you a computer whiz? Could you help out occasionally with technical problems? Can you install and train others on how to use software programs, i.e. Access, Excel, or Word?
  
• Invest financially. We understand! Sometimes folks just don't have any time left over, but they are willing to make a financial contribution. The Georgetown Project is a nonprofit organization. All financial gifts are tax deductible, and you will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
