The NEST - update!

The Georgetown Project Board of Directors and Staff would like to express our gratitude for the $25,000 Seeds of Strength grant for the Eagle's Nest project. This funding will enhance the capacity of our organization by allowing us to hire a coordinator for Eagle's Nest, a drop-in center that will provide important services after the school bell rings to teens living in transition in our com-munity, and who are qualified as homeless by Georgetown ISD. Eagle's Nest is the first outreach of its kind in Georgetown, and without the ability to hire professional staff we would not be able to open the doors this fall, so the SOS grant is both timely and sincerely appreciated.

Montana Mike's and Sirloin Stockade Restaurants have an ongoing program benefiting churches.  When you dine in either or both of these restaurants, ask for your receipt.  Take it to your church.  The church saves all the receipts they get and periodically turns them in and receives a check in the amount of 5% of the total receipts from the corporate office of these two restaurants.

Christ Lutheran Church in Georgetown has designated that one-half of such proceeds will be donated to Bridges to Growth, a program of The Georgetown Project.  The other half will go to Water to Thrive, a program that helps build water wells in third world countries.

If you wish to donate your receipts to Christ Lutheran Church, to support Bridges to Growth, the church is located at 510 Luther Drive in Georgetown, OR, you can drop the receipts by Bridges to Growth, 805 W. University Avenue, Georgetown, and we will see that they are delivered to Christ Lutheran Church.  We are open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 am - 7 pm.

We thank these community partners for their support and hope that you will participate in these fundraising activities.  If you need more information, please contact Jane Hazelton, (512) 864-3008.
