Kid CityYears ago, The Georgetown Project and The Caring Place set out together on a mission to help make summers happier, healthier, and more educational for Kindergarten through 5th Grade students in Georgetown. Kid City is the result. Kid City is a summer food enrichment program targeting 60 children (K-5th Grade) eligible for the GISD free and reduced lunch program. Goals are to improve the health and nutrition of children; increase protective assets among children through positive adult relationships; and provide summer enrichment opportunities for children whose parents may not be able to afford camps and vacation experiences. Kid City is a partnership of The Georgetown Project, The Caring Place, Georgetown ISD, Rural Capital Area Workforce Commission, City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department, and local volunteers. Dates for Kid City this year are July 7 - August 1. Flyer on Kid City
