Youth Leadership

Initiatives promoting youth leadership development, community service learning, and intergenerational activities involve hundreds of Georgetown teens each year.  A Summit on Children and Youth brought together 125 youth and 125 adults from the community (1) to discuss challenges facing youth in Georgetown; and (2) to develop action plans for solutions.  Follow-up to The Summit led to creation of the Georgetown City Council’s Youth Advisory Board, The Georgetown Project’s Youth Action Committee, Annual Youth Service Days, diversity training opportunities, and an annual calendar of positive alternative activities for Georgetown teens.
